Industrial Bioethanol
Industrial bio ethanol plants are becoming more common as many countries strive to use less fossil fuels. These plants are generally very large as they need scale to get the economics to work. They are basically giant alcohol distilleries and utilise products and wastes in order to produce high purity ethanol which is used as substitute to petrol.
They ferment Agri products such as grains, sugar beet and other high starch materials into alcohol. These plants tend to have significant quantities of by products such as syrups and spent grains animal feeds. These often get further processed into biogas sector to produce biogas. These plants will tend to buy the raw materials from production as they require consistent high-quality feed. The by products also tend to be a saleable commodity either into feed or biogas.
